There was a moment when everything looked like success — and yet, something inside me became quiet.

Carbickova Crowns had grown beyond anything I had ever imagined. Orders were coming in from all over the world. My designs were worn by celebrities. We exhibited at Expo 2020 in Dubai. From the outside, it looked like everything was exactly as it should be.

But deep inside, I knew something had changed.

Where My Creative Journey Began

Because this story didn’t start there. It started much earlier — when I was five years old, sitting at a table surrounded by beads.

My parents made rosaries by hand, and I learned to wire my first pieces before I even fully understood what I was doing. There were always Czech glass beads around me, tools, materials and an endless possibility to create.

I didn’t choose this path. I grew up inside it.

What I remember the most is not the technique, but the feeling. It was the first place where I felt completely free. I could create anything I wanted — bracelets, small jewelry pieces, even glass sun catchers that reflected light into the room. I loved how something small could transform a space and change its energy.

And very early on, I tested it in the real world. I wore my creations to school and even sold bracelets to my classmates for a single coin. I didn’t think of it as business. I simply felt that what I was creating had value.

That feeling never left me.

From Czech Glass Beads To A Creative Brand

At sixteen, I left home and moved to Jablonec nad Nisou — the heart of Czech jewelry craftsmanship. I thought I might one day work for a company, but very quickly I realized something important: I couldn’t create under someone else’s vision.

I needed freedom. Not just to design, but to create something bold, expressive and different. Something that didn’t follow rules.

So I chose the harder path and started building my own brand - Carbickova Crowns.

The beginning was far from easy. I sold my work on small handmade platforms, trying to fit into a market that valued low prices more than creativity. I simplified my designs. I made them smaller, safer, more practical — not because I wanted to, but because I thought I had to.

And slowly, I started losing connection to what I truly wanted to create.

Deep down, I knew my work belonged somewhere else. Somewhere bigger. Somewhere where women weren’t afraid to stand out. I just didn’t know how to get there yet.

Then everything changed.

When Halo Crowns Changed Everything

When Covid came, everything stopped almost overnight. Festivals disappeared. Sales dropped. We had just built a beautiful mobile stand — and suddenly, it had nowhere to go.

I remember thinking: I have to change everything.

Within weeks, I shifted direction completely. I stopped focusing on small, safe pieces and started creating Halo Crowns. They were bold. Visible. Different. And at that time, almost no one was making them.

It felt risky, but it also felt like the first honest step back to myself.

The Order That Made Me Believe

Three months later, something happened that I will never forget. An order came in — from Khloé Kardashian.

She ordered directly through my shop, under her own name. And in that moment, everything clicked. For the first time, I truly believed in what I was creating. That it wasn’t “too much.” That it wasn’t unrealistic. That it was exactly what some women were looking for.

That moment changed everything.

Orders started growing. The Carbickova Crowns brand expanded. We exhibited at Expo 2020 in Dubai and worked on projects for global artists.

From the outside, it looked like success.

Why I Chose Quality Over Growth

But behind the scenes, something else was happening.

As the Carbickova Crowns business grew, so did the pressure. I built a team, a studio and a system. And slowly, without even realizing it, I stopped being only a creator and became a manager.

For several years, I tried to make it work. I truly believed we could find a balance between growth, quality and people. I cared deeply about my team and didn’t want to lose what we had built.

But over time, I started seeing something I could not ignore.

The Moment I Could Not Ignore

The quality began to slip.

Not because people didn’t try, but because they didn’t feel it the same way I did.

And that’s when I understood something essential.

This kind of work cannot be separated from the person who creates it. It is not just about technique or production. It is about intention, precision, presence and care. And those things cannot be replicated or scaled without losing something important.

At the same time, I was exhausted. I had a small baby at home, I was working constantly, and the joy I once felt was slowly disappearing.

Then one day, negative reviews appeared publicly.

And I knew.

This is not who I am. This is not what my customers deserve.

Every woman who orders from me places her trust in my hands. She is not just buying an accessory. She is trusting me with a moment, a feeling, a transformation. And I could not allow that trust to be compromised.

So I made the hardest decision.

I closed the studio.

Not because it was easy, but because it was right.

Carbickova Crowns is not just a business I run. It is an extension of who I am. And protecting its quality means protecting my own integrity.

What Makes A Crown More Than An Accessory

So what makes a crown different from just an accessory?

Anyone can copy a design. They can recreate the shape, use similar materials and place every detail in the same position. But they cannot recreate the intention behind it.

They cannot recreate the years of experience, the instinct, the precision or the energy that goes into every piece. Because the most important element is invisible.

Care. Presence. And something I believe in deeply: love for what is being created.

Every crown carries a signature — not just in how it looks, but in how it feels.

Returning To True Creation

Today, everything is different.

I create again — freely, but with intention. I design pieces that are not only expressive, but also wearable. Pieces that women can truly experience, not just admire.

And most importantly, I am back in direct connection with the women who choose my work.

Because for me, every customer is not just a customer. She is someone I deeply respect.

A woman who is not afraid to stand out. A woman who wants more. A woman who chooses authenticity over invisibility. A woman who understands that beauty can be a form of self-celebration.

When she puts on a crown, I don’t want her to feel only dressed up.
