Created as the jewelry centerpiece of this radiant La Catrina collection, this handcrafted choker carries the richness of the dramatic floral halo crown down toward the heart. Antique-gold ornamentation surrounds the neckline in a delicate succession of filigree details, suspended heart motifs and ruby-red stones, creating a piece that feels both precious and ceremonial.
The beauty of this choker lies in the way its many small details become one composition. Warm antique gold creates the foundation, while flashes of deep red echo the roses and jeweled accents of the matching crown. Delicate ornaments fall beneath the neckline like tiny treasures, giving the necklace movement and creating an intricate silhouette that remains beautiful even when worn without the rest of the set. The complete design was created around a spectacular radiating floral halo crown, where vivid red and pink roses are surrounded by long antique-gold rays, ornate filigree and jewel-like red details. The choker brings that monumental design closer to the body, while the matching earrings continue its ornamentation beside the face. Together, the three pieces create a visual journey from the radiant crown through the face and finally toward the heart.
That journey carries particular meaning within a collection inspired by La Catrina and Día de los Muertos. What has fascinated us for years is the way remembrance can coexist with extraordinary beauty — flowers, color, ornament, family and love surrounding the acknowledgement that life is temporary. The heart motifs throughout this choker became our own expression of that idea: a reminder of the connections we carry with us and of the love that can remain present through memory.
Every choker is individually handcrafted in our Czech atelier. Its numerous ornamental components, stones and suspended details are carefully selected, positioned and assembled by hand, making subtle variations a natural part of every piece. Whether worn alone or as part of the complete La Catrina set, it was created as wearable art — jewelry intended not simply to accompany a transformation, but to become part of it.
Our La Catrina collection is our own artistic interpretation inspired by the extraordinary visual language surrounding La Catrina and Día de los Muertos, approached with admiration and respect for their Mexican cultural origins.
