The La Catrina Floral Crown was created as the centerpiece of one of the most elaborate looks in our new Día de los Muertos collection. A dramatic arrangement of deep red roses and black flowers rises above the head, surrounded by intricate antique-gold ornamentation, Sacred Heart details and jewel-like accents. The silhouette is abundant and unmistakable, but the closer you look, the more the crown begins to reveal — tiny metal flowers, filigree, hearts, crystals and ornamental elements hidden between the petals, each placed by hand to become part of one richly layered composition.
Red, black and antique gold were chosen deliberately for this design. The deep flowers give the crown intensity and depth, while the aged gold brings warmth, light and the feeling of something precious. Sacred Heart inspired details appear throughout the composition as a recurring symbol of love, devotion and memory. Rather than creating beauty simply for decoration, we wanted every part of this crown to belong to the same emotional world — one where flowers and mortality, remembrance and celebration can exist together.
That contrast is one of the reasons La Catrina and Día de los Muertos have inspired our work for so many years. Día de los Muertos reminds us that those who came before us can be remembered through family, stories, flowers, color and the memories that remain alive across generations. La Catrina carries that relationship between life and mortality with extraordinary elegance: she can wear flowers beside imagery of death without either diminishing the other. Instead, the contrast becomes a reminder of how precious life, love and human connection truly are.
The crown has enough presence to create an extraordinary La Catrina transformation entirely on its own, but it was designed as part of a much larger composition. The matching Sacred Heart Earrings continue the antique-gold ornamentation beside the face, while the Choker Necklace carries it toward the heart. The sculptural Rib Corset extends the same floral and golden language across the body, and the coordinating Finger Claws bring the final details all the way to the hands. Together, the pieces create a transformation that feels intentionally composed from crown to fingertips rather than assembled from unrelated accessories.
Our La Catrina collection is our own artistic interpretation inspired by the extraordinary visual language surrounding La Catrina and Día de los Muertos, approached with admiration and respect for their Mexican cultural origins. These pieces are not intended as reproductions of traditional Mexican artifacts. They are our handcrafted expression of the beauty, remembrance, family, love and celebration of life that continue to inspire this collection.
Every crown is individually handcrafted in our Czech atelier. The flowers, metal ornaments, Sacred Heart elements and jewel-like details are carefully selected, layered and positioned by hand to create depth and balance from every angle. Subtle variations are a natural part of this process and make each crown slightly individual. This is not simply a floral headpiece — it is the beginning of a transformation and a celebration of how beautifully memory and life can exist together.
